Maine Girl Wed Today to Lieut. GamivellBecomes His Bride In Afternoon Ceremony in Maine(From Saturday's Eagle)St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church In Lisbon Falls, Me., was the scene this afternoon of the wedding ol Miss Arlene Marie Bickford,W. Bickford of that town to Lt.Mr*. C. C. Gamwell 3dlt;jg) Cecil Calvert Gam well 3d, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Gam well Jr. of 498 South Street, this city. Rev. R. F. Sweetster performed the 4 o’clock ceremony In a setting of candelabras and gladioli. Mrs. Frances McIntosh was at the organ.Mr. Bickford gave his daughter in marriage. She was gowned in ivory faille, fashioned with basque top, Peter Pan collar, self-covered buttons and full skirt with short trarin. Her tulle and Spanish lace veil, which has been worn by three listers of the bridegroom, was attached to a headdress of heirloom lace. She carried white rose buds end gyposophila with white sweet pea streamers.Mrs. Wiliys H. Monroe, the bridegroom’s sister, was ma?tron ol honor, and bridesmaids w'ere the Misses Zelma Warren, cousin of the bride, and Marilyn Tobie. The honor attendant's gown was of del blue faille taffeta with matching net overskirt, and her headdress of yellow gladitli, which matched the flowers in her bouquet. The bridesmaids wore white marquisette, studded vrtth white sequins, Their head-pieces and bouquets were of picardy colored gladioli,Mr. Gamwell was best man for his son. and John Mcrley and Marshall Cook ushered. The couple left on a wedding trip after a reception at the home of the bride's parents. For traveling, Mrs, Gam-well wore a white suit, orchid hat end orchid corsage. After Sept. 22, the couple will make their home In Hamilton, N.Y., where Mr. Garm-well Will attend Colgate University.The bride was graduated from Westbrook Junior College and Syracuse University. Mr. .Gamwell, who now is on terminal leave from the Navy after three years’ service. will begin his last year at Colgate next month. He previously attended Syracuse University.
