THOMAS GABLENZ fLamfgren Photo)Miss Mary Kobus became the bride of Tom Gablenz tlus morning at St. Anthony Catholic church with Father Armand Lubanski officiating at 10 o’clock. Music was provided by Sister Lucy at the organ and Mrs. Don Uphoff, soloist.Miss Kobus is the daughter of Mr/and Mrs. Fete Kobus. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gablenz,The bride’s gown of French delustered satin featured a portrait neckline edged with double daisies of Swiss organza. A fitted empire bodice topped a modified A-line skirt, aproned with pearl centered organza daisies. The chapel train fell from n back bow.A Swedish crown of miniature pearls and crystal teardrops caught the bride’s English illusion veil. She carried white mums and lilies.Miss Terri Kobus of Omaha was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Theresa Pen-sick, Miss Patti Mlmick of Omaha and Miss Patty Czapla of St. Louis.They wore georgette gowns in pastel shades of eandy pink, nile green, maize yellow, and aqua. The empire bodices featured deep portrait necklines and cuffed, puffed elbow length sleeves edged with lace. A floor length tratn fell from a low back neckline.Their circular veils were held by a caplet edged with lily - of - the - valley buds. They carried daisy mums.Don Gablenz of Columbus served as best man. Groomsmen were John Iossi; Bob Gablenz, and Frank Skorupa. Ushering were Ray Czapla and Larrv Ernst.Dinner was served to 250 guests at the Knights of Columbus hall, and a reception followed for 400 guests. Mr. andMrs. Lyle Backes and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kobus were the host couples. At the guest book were Misses Jane Braun, Mary Kay Hankc, Delores Kudron - ana Miehelene Korgle. Opening the gifts were Mmes. Leo Kalnow-ski; Ray Alt, William Czapla and Ron Shotkoski.After a western trip the newlyweds will live in Lincoln. Both are graduates of St. Bon-aventure High and the groom is a junior at the University of Nebraska.
