Parties P recedeWeddingRites of Miss LaschingerMiss Mary Laschinger, whose marriage to James L. Albright will take place at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Methodist Church, has been entertained at a series of parties in Gilmer, Dallas and Longview.The home of Dr. and Mrs. Madison S. Ragland on South Montgomery St. was the .setting for a luncheon Friday. Mrs. Ragland, Mrs. Bill Patterson and Mrs. Jimmie Marshall were hostesses.Tomato juice cocktail was served in the living room, after which the guests went to the dining room for the seated meal. The table was centered with an arrangement of yellow mums with blue net in a cut glass container.The menu included miniature chicken pies, asparagus in lemon rings, fruit salad with poppy seed dressing, pickles, iced tea, dainty hot muffins, peach ice cream and meringue kisses. Places were marked with favors of perfume.The hostesses presentedMiss Laschinger a decorative tray.Attending were Miss Martha Gooch. Miss Rose Ann Hart, Mrs. Richard Yocom, Mrs. Tommy Davidson. The table was covered with a white linen cloth and centered with an arrangement of blue Majestic daisies and yellow mums.Mrs. Burr Porter and Mrs. R. B. Cook honored Miss Laschinger Monday morning at a coffee at the Porter' home.The living room mantel held an arrangement of blue carnations, and yellow mums! in a painted China container. A bouquet of Peace roses adorned an end table. The refreshment table in the dining room was centered with an arrangement of yellow mums, blue carnations and yellow asters in a silver bowl. A large silver platter lined with bartbna leaves held an artistic arrangement of grapes, plums, melon boats with blueberries and strawberries. A companion piece on the buffet also held fresh fruits. Sausage-w rapped pastries, sand tarts and cheese pastries were served.Mrs. Ray H. Greene poured coffee.
