Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chemiewsia dur ing the long weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Vern Janssen and son Brian of Winnipeg. Recent weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. (Pat) Basaraba were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Basaraba of Watson, Sask. and Mr. and Mrs. Taras Boyanowski, of Winnipeg. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. David Andreychuk (mee El ennor Dohan) who were united in holy matrimony at Winnipegosis on Saturday, Aug. 1. Mr. and Mrs. Anton Pylypis, and family and Miss Nellie Pyl pin, all of Toronto, and Mrs John Green, of Grand Falls, New. During their Stay ‘there they attended a 58th wedding anniversary celebration on Aug 2 for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pylypiw. Daryl Don, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hryeny, was christened at the Greek Orthodox church on Sunday Aug. 2 God parents were Mrs. Pele Buria and Edward Varelis of Kithet bert. A christening party was held ait the parents home follow ing the ceremony with approxi mately fifteen guests in atten dance. Eleanor Serwas accompanie t Mrs. Albert Serwa and family back to Kelowna, B. C. where she will spend two weeks’ holi days visiting relatives. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Skulmoski (nee Hope Wowchuk) who were mar ried on Saturday, Aug. 8. Mrs. Carl Overby accompanied her grandchildren Johnny and Darlene Chunick back to Wel laind, Ont. where she will spend several days’ holidays visiting her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bourgeois of Flim Fon spent several days’ holiday here visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pawl Kostiuk Puneral services were held on Friday, Aug. 14 from the Pine River United church for Nykifor Cymibaluk, pioneer resident of Pine River who passed away at Dauphin on Aug. 10 at the age of 80. Out-of-town relatives at tending the funeral were Mrs. Lloyd Gordon (Stella) of Nipi gon, Ont.
