Miss Cooke, S. A. McConkeyAre Wed In Methodist TempleSaturday afternoon in The Methodist Temple here Miss Martha Jane Cooke, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Cecil D. Cooke, 208 Queen St., became the bride of Samuel Allen McConkey III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. McConkey of Barboursville.DR. GLENN Stewart, former pastor of The Temple, solemnized the double-ring ceremony at 4o’clock. Traditional wedding selections were played by Miss Elizabeth Brash at the organ, and Miss Claudeis Newman sang, “I Love Thee, “Entreat Me Not To Leave Thee.” and “0 Perfect Love.”The wedding scene was enhanced by pairs of seven-brandh-ed candelabra holding lighted cathedral tapers and decorated with woodwardia fern, euonymous foliage and white pompon chrysanthemums. Prie-dieux centered the setting, and family pews were denoted by white regal markers decorated with candles, greenery and pompons.WEARING a satin-faced silk organza gown styled with a sweetheart neckline of Alencon lace with pearl and crystal trim, the bride was given in marriage by her father. The carriage-pleated back was accented by large cabbage roses, and the three-quarter-length sleeves were detailed with shirring held by clusters of seed pearls and crystals. The skirt extended to a full chapel train and she wore an elbow-length veil of French illusion which fell from a triple crown of seed pearls, crystals and lace inset. Her bouquet was fashioned into a cascade of pink cymbidium orchids accented by pink sweetheart roses and euonymous foliage.Mrs. Don C. Bunch. The back pleats were accented by large bows with streamers extending to the hemline. Their matching ban-; deaux wrere fashioned of cabbage roses with attached brief veils and they carried summer baskets filled with pink carnations and fern, with pink satin streamers.: The groom’s father served as best man and ushers were Ollie I B. Mrs. Cooke, mother of the bride, received guests attired in an ice-blue silk chiffon sheath dress with matching accessories, and the groom’s mother chose a Bristol blue lace dress. Both wore matching accessories and corsages of cymbidium orchids accented with net and ribbon to match their dresses.A color scheme of pink and white was carried out for the affair. The bride’s cake table was covered with a white embroidered organza cloth over pink. It was centered with a four-tiered cake, with streamers of roses and lily of the valley cascading from the top, and flanked by three-branched silver candelabra holding pink tapers in the outer holder with epergnes filled with pink and white roses in the center.Hanging summer baskets filled with pink geraniums and woodland fern decorated the columns in the social room.AIDES included Mrs. I. While at the University he served as president of the Student Body, 1961-62, and was president of Helvetia, sophomore men’s scholastic honorary. He also was a member of Fi Batar Cappar, men’s mock honorary, Mountain, ranking men’s honorary, and Delta Tau Delta, social fraternity.They will live at 200 Menole Ave., Apt. No. 5, Richmond, j where the groom will enter the j Medical College of Virginia.{ Whey they left for a wedding trip to The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs and The Ilome-|stead in Hot Springs, Va., the bride chose for traveling a natural straw-colored suit of monk's cloth, brown accessories and a white orchid corsage.
