This is proved by an instance . which recently came und^r our ob serration. Hendrik Zeldenthuis, aged 23, and Miss Sijskjen Wierda aged 22, residents of the Province of Friesland, Holland, were on the verge of matrimony. Now it so happened that the gentleman’s par ents live in Floyd township, in this county, and it is necessary under the marriage laws of the Netiier-alnds that a young man cannot marry under the age of thirty years without the consent of hisparents- For that reason it wasnecessarj' to go through a large amount of red tape in order to allow the young couple to be bound in the holy bonds of wedlock. Jac ob Koolbeck, justice of the peace at Hospers, took the acknowledgement of the parents, Mr. and-Mrs. Rein Jans Zeldenthuis; next Jelle Pelmulder, county clerk had to certify that said Koolbeck is a justice of the peace in Floyd town ship; then Frank D. Jackson, must certify that Jelle Pelmulder is in fact the clerk of the courts of Sioux county; and, finally, the council of the Netherlands, must needs certify that Frank D. Jackson is beyond doubt secretary of state of the state of Iowa. When all these requirements have been com plied with, and not till then, this couple, who could marry in Amer iea on a day’s notice, can become men and wife. During the time it takes to go through all this red tape the young people are quite likely to fall in love with somebody else and not marry at all. If you want to make a sure thing; young man, come to America.Ex-President John Tyler’s will, a copy of which is now in this county for probate purposes, is inoi mefamil:goverThe court the at great in the two-s the w the w ed 1 c 1 e r fices t er’s. dition a cloa court built t of the ample record tire at; ed to west e utilizei The w the cowhat iand £ should tion in aid ofGro-rived.crazie? the pr ed pre with word i posting asylum when 1 office, the stawas in last, a fusion! back b Here e
