The groom is a graduate of Penn Yan Academy and is now farming and is a vineyardist.Kane-Bennett(Tyrone-Weston Correspondent)The Weston Presbyterian church decorated with masses of garden flowers, was the attractive setting for the wedding of Miss Marguerite Bennett of Elmira and Erwin Kane of Middleville at 3 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 1944. More than 115 guests witnessed the single ring service which was solemnized by Rev. William Perry, pastor of the church. Mrs. Perry played the processional and recessional wedding music.The bride, who was given in marriage by her grandfather, Hiram Pitcher, wore a gown of white tulle and lace with finger-tip veil of tulle held by a coronet of flowers, and carried an arm bouquet of white gladioli. She ^vas attended by Miss Verna M. Kane, of Middleville, sister of the groom, who wore a gown of sheer orchid material, fashioned like the bride's with shoulder-length veil held by a gold crown and gold slippers. She carried an arm bouquet of orchid gladioli. The bride’s mother was dressed in navy blue crepe, the- grooms’ mother in brown crepe, eqch had a corsage of red rsebuds.Herbert A. McKinstry of Avoca was best man and ushers were Harold DeCamp, jr., and Robert Allen of Weston. vFollowing the wedding ceremony a reception and supper for 50 guests was given at the home, of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pitcher in Weston, where decorations were white and orchid and favors were placed in tiny yellow baskets. The bridal couple left for a Keuka lake cottage where they will spend their honeymoon.The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Irene Bennett of Elmira, a graduate of the Bradford Central school in 1941 and employed as an electric welder by the American Bridge company in Elmira Heights.
