MONDAY MUSICAL MATINEE The publc is’ invited to attend the third of a series of Monday Musical Matinees next Monday afternoon at four o'clock when Miss Rose Siapné, Pianist, who is a pupil of Miss Ber nies Frost will give the program. Miss Strong Will be assisted by Miss Florence Johnsen, reader. A two course luncheon will be served at the Clap house for which elaborate prepara tions are being made. Following the luncheon, ridge will be played. Mrs. W. A. Heimberger is the chairman of the committer in charge and she will be assisted by Miss Florence, Derr, Miss Clara Fox, Miss Helene Spangler, Miss Irene Gosche, Miss Marjorie Stadénic, Miss. Margaret Shaw and Miss Verna Neidis or Plankinton ‘ ‘ MRS. BROWN ENTERTAINS Mrs. Jennie Brown, 404 East’ Third avenue, entertained Thursday ‘evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Brown whose first wedding ‘anniver sary was Thursday. Members of the bridal party were the guests and the evening was spent playing cards. When the scores were added, Mrs. Will Lancaster received’ the low score and John Kotrba held the high score.’ At the close of the evening, two course luncheon was served and the hostess was assisted by her daughter, Miss Mildred. RED LADIES ALTAR SOCIETY Picnic Three hundred members and trends of the Ladies’ Altar society and the Catholic Daughters of América gath ered at Hitchcock park Friday even ing. A picnic dinner was served af ter which they attended the Special Feature night program at the park and offered all the prizes which s were won in the different events. Mrs. EB. McCarthy and Mrs. C. A. Simall had charge of the dinner and they were assisted by Mrs. P. H. Kel ley, Mr. Fred Baker, and Mrs. G. P. Hartwick. Guests from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. John Donovan. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zehupfinnig and Mrs. Will Clark of Ethan. Mr. and Mrs. J. Tf. Huebl, Miss Marie De Kock, Miss. Sue Steichen, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tiet linger, and Mrs. L. A. Mueller of White Lake, Mrs. C. J. McManus, Lu elle, Thelmn and Donald McManus of Laurel, Mont., Misa Margaret Ryan of Van Horn, Ss. Mrs. T. B Crelly, Ralph and Thomas Creily of Spencer, Res. Mark Doyle, Evelyn, Therrmbett, Margaret and Anna Stacia Doyle of Emery, and Mrs. Lee King of Loomis, LINN-CRATON NUPTIALS .A quiet, home wedding took place Thursday afternoon when Miss Peskie - Linn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Linn of Rockham and Hugh Craton, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Craton 808 East Hanson street, were marties at the bride's home, Rev. Walker of the Methodist church officiated at the Ting ceremony. At four o'clock the bridal party met under an archway of greenery and @owers in the living room which was beautifully decorated in a color scheme of yellow and white. The bride was charming in a gown of white satin and carried a bridal bou quet of roses. Miss Mae Summers of Gettysburg was the bridesmaid and Pay Linn, a brother of the bride, was the beat man. _ Immediaely following the cere mony, a dinner was served ‘to ‘the guests who included only the immed iate relatives of the bride and bride groom. Miss Blanche Litin, Miss Carlson and Miss Grace Craton of Mitchell served the dinner. A wed ding cake centered the bride's table and two silver candlesticks with yel low candles were placed at either side. ‘Mrs. Craton is well-known in Mitch ell where she has appeared in several recitals having graduated from the Dakota Wesleyan academy and also from the university with a G. A de grée and a major in music. Since her graduation last spring, Mrer Craton has taught plans in Rockham, Mr. Craton graduated from Dako ta Wesleyan university with a BAc degree and for the past two years has been athletic coach and teacher of science in the high school at Des plaing, I, where they will make their home, Mr. and Mrs. Craton left for a tour of Yellowstone park after which they will be at home in Desplains. Mr.” Guests from Mitichell included Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Craton, Ralph, Earl, Rush and Miss Grace Craton, Dr. Ruth H. Payton of Shawnee, Okla, a sister of the bridegroom ,and Hugh ‘Payton of Shawnee, who are visiting ‘in Mitchell, also attended. PRESBYTERIAN PICNIC ‘The members of the Presbyterian church and Sunday school spent Fri day afternoon and evening at Cooney's Merove where they enjoyed a Picnic. Volleyball and baseball games and fauhts were played during the after noon and at six o'clock a picnic din ner was served. One hundred were ‘present and the Women's Bible class of which Mrs. J. C. Narsden is the teacher composed the committee in charge of the dinner. , The ‘Triangle Sunday School class ’which is taught by Rev. Mr. McMania j had charge of the entertainment and KL, EB. Williams was the general chair man. MATEXEE PARTE The members of the Y. S. club en joyed a matinee party Friday after noon when they attended the Metro opolitan theater. The members present included Miss Lucile F. Michael, Miss Sylvia Stage, Miss Gertrude Schneider, Miss Evan Dunhant, Miss Irene Willhoite, Miss. Tone Willhoite, Miss Leone Willhoite, Miss Mable Lehman, Mrs Asa Chen owith, Miss Neya Toland and Miss Frances Linton. MRS. L. M. HARDY HONORED Mrs. C. I. Rolston and Mrs. L. A Schnoor entertained Thursday at a luncheon and bridge party at the hame of the...former, 21414 East Third avenue, in honor of Mrs. L. M. Hardy of Clark. . A color scheme of yellow and pink was charmingly carried out in the luncheon menu and table decorations while the rooms were prettily decor ated with a profusion of garden flow ers. The hostess was assisted during the afternoon by Mrs. William Sca lin and Mrs. George Carlson. Bridge was played at four tables and when the scores were added, Mrs. W. BR.Sickle and Mrs. C. F. Town son received the prize while the guest prize was presented to Mrs. J. M. Bards. Mrs. Lucy C. Potter of Los An geles, Calif. who is visiting with her daughter,Mrs. V. R. Sickle, was a guest from out-of-town.
