Scherer-Vonderau.The wedding of Miss Eleanor Von-dcrau, daughter of Mrs, Fred J. Von-derau, of Goeglein, and Mr. Arnold Scherer, son of Mr. and ilrs. I* p, Soherc*. of 1232 Oak stieet, was a pret-j tv affair of Wednesday evening, being solemnized at seven-thirty o'clock in 1 the St, Peter's Lutheran church at (loeglein. Palms and baskets of flow-1 era decotated the altar together with | festoons of white crepe paper which also designated those pews lescived for relatives and friends who were to lie entertained at the reception at the home 1 (Mowing the ceremony. Rev. A.C. Doerfiler performed the marriage service and Prof. SchlunClt, organist of St. Peter’s church, presided render- i ing a program of appropriate wedding music. The iiidai parly consisted of Miss Alma Scherer, sister to the groom, as maid of honor, the Misses Dorothey Vowlcrau, of Goeglcin, cousin lo the bride, and l^mra Burg, as bridesmaids, and two little nieces of the bride, Ruth and Anita Vondcrau, i as flow’d gills. Mr. Oscar Vonderau, the bride’s bi other, attended the groom as best man and the ushers weie Messrs. Louis Scheier and Arthur Heine. The two flower maids woic dainty frocks of white with pink lib-bon sashes and carried French baskets of sunbuist lose bud s. Miss Scherer wore an evening gown of pale blue pussy willow satin, its silvery sheen accentuated by the handsome silver lace which trimmed the bodice and formed an apron effect both front and back. The skirt was caught at the hem 1n Turkish effect and silver slippers were worn with the costume, ller flowers were .Sutibuist roses and swansonfa. The two bridesmaids wore palest pink pussy willow satin and georgette crepe and carried arm bouquets of pink Killarncy roses and swan sonia.The bride was lovely in her gown of ivory white crepe de meteor with j tiimming of handsome chantilly lace and peail bead garniture. The veil was caught into putfa and was held act oss the forehead with a spray of swan sonia blossoms and the bridal i bouquet was of bride’s roses andj swan sonia tied with deepjoops of chiffon ribbon. Miss Ilufda Eickhoff, cousin of the hiide, from Indianapolis, sang a beautiful solo immediately following the double ring ceiemony which was read in the Herman language and afterward the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride's mother where a large reception and supper was held in honor of the young couple. Many garden flowers decorated the rooms and a. handsome wedding cake baked by the groom's father, the v el! known baker, was a conspicuous leatuie of the bride’s table.Duiing the evening Mrs. Scherer changed her wedding gown for a traveling suit of navy blue serge and the newlyweds left on a ten day lake trip fiom Chicago to Buffalo. Upon their leturn to the city the will begin housekeeping in their own new home at 2621 West Drive.
