Shower Fetes Miss AdkinsMrs. C. H. Beaty and her daughters, Mrs. C. L. Moore and MissJean Beaty, were hostesses at a miscellaneous shower Friday evening on the lawn at the Beaty home in Cool Spring, to honor Miss Carolyn Atkins, bride-elect oi August 25.A corsage of white gladioli was presented to Mis Adkins to complement her black summer frock which had white lace trim. Tinysilver bells decorated the green-and-white wheel harrow on whichgifts of the bridal shower were placed. The hostesses’ gift to thehonor guest was a dinner plate inher china.The refreshment table on the lawn was spread with a cloth ofwhite linen and the punch bowl was surrounded by white gladious florets and ivy leaves. Lime punch, mints and bridal squares were served carrying out the green and white color scheme. Guests included about 30 friend? of the hricjLe-elect. Miss Hose Mildred Steele assisted the hostesses in serving.Prizes were awarded Mrs. Don Russell and Mrs. Graham Knox who presented them to the hono* ree. After the opening of gifts a recording of the exclamations of the bride-elect as she opened eachpackage was played back for herbenefit.
