GASS.'(* V ■ ... . jgv •An attractive candlelight home wedding was that of Miss Cecilia Wieland. daughter of Mrs. Henry Wieland of Sutton, and Melvin C. t Gass, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Gass of Edgar, which was solem-' nized Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the Wieland home in Sutton. Neb. Rev. R. Kirchhefer performed the ceremony tn the presence of seventy guests before a background of tall baskets of larkspur and gladioli of pastel shades with lighted candles on either side.Preceding the ceremonv. Miss Jessie McDonald of Wisner, sang At Dawning,” and following the ; ceremony, Miss Luella Wieland. cousin of the bride, sang ‘‘I Love You Trulv.” They were accompaniedat the piano by Mrs. Carl Gass ot Red Cloud who laved Lohengrin's I wedding music for the processional. McDowell's To a Wild Rose, during the service, and Mendelssohn’s Wedding March” for the recessional.The bride was attended by her two sisters. Miss Bernice Wieland, attired in a gown of turquoise blue crepe, and Miss LeNie Wieland. In a gown of pink organdie. Their go*ms were made on long line* with contrasting pink and blue taffeta jackets and accessories to match. They carried arm bouquets of roses and Sweet peas. Cozette Wieland, a sister of the bride, and Berdena Wierk of Edgar, niece of the groom, in rainbow colored frocks, were flower girls. Carl Oass of Red Cloud, brother of the groom, served as best man.The bride chose an ankle length gown of flesh colored silk net over taffeta of the same shade, which was fitted along princess lines. A cap of flesh net fastened on either side by orange blossoms held the long veil in place. Her lace mitts, shoes, and other accessories were of j robin egg blue. She carried a shower bouquet of bride's ror.es, lilies of the valley and baby-breath. Her going-away outfit was a two piece navy dress with matching accessories.An informal reception followed the ceremony. Mrs. Carl Spielmann presided at the serving, assisted by Misses • Cornelia Wieland, Marie Grosshans. Inez Srhwarz, Martha and Sara Boehler. Mrs. John Easley of Clay Center was in charge of the guest book and Miss Inez Geseh-wender of Lincoln, the gift room.The couple left Immediately after the wedding for a two weeks’honeymoon trip to the Black Hills. They will be at home in Edgar, after September 1.Among the out of town guests were: Mrs. John Geschwender anddaughter, Inez, Miss Cornelia Wieland. and Gilbert Wieland, all of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Gass Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wleck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gass. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gass, Merton wugden, Cecil Harvison and Wayne Johnson, all of Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gass of Red Cloud, Misses Helen and Jeasie McDonald of Wisner, Mr. and Mrs. Vern D* Moran-ville and Miss Eva Crisman otHastings.
