Wed in Church Ceremony FMr. and Mrs. Joe Brown are on a honeymoon following their marriage Saturday afternoon at West Street Christian church. The double ring ceremony was read by Rev. Norval Lyon, minister of the church, before an altar arranged with bouquets of white gladiolus, palms and candelabra. White satin bows, centered with candles, marked family pews.Soloist was Miss Darlene Phea-nis, who was accompanied by Mrs. Merlin Harlow.The bride is the former Miss Sharon Gatlin, daughter of Mrs. S. A. McMannis, 433 East Jefferson street, and Albert Gatlin, of Kokomo. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, of Kokomo*White Taffeta Gown Entering with her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride appeared in a gown of ivory dupi-oni over white taffeta. Her three-tiered skirt flared into a chapel train trimmed in embroidery lace of roses. The scalloped neckline was also edged with the lace. Her veil, accented with seed pearls, cascaded from a half hat and she carried a white Bible crested with white orchids.Miss Oliene Wright, honor attendant, wore a gown of pink nylon tulle over pink taffeta. Her pink nylon tulle hat was of matching material and she carried a bou quet of pink orchids and pink pha leonopsis.Gowns of lilac tulle over lilac taffeta were worn by the bridesmaids, who were Judy Cook, of Kokomo, cousin of the bride, and Barbara Moore, of Indianapolis. Their bouquets were like that of the maid of honor.Best man was Don Hughes, of Kokomo, and ushers were Robert Lowery, Lawrence Parrott, Rex Cumford and Howard Hughes, all of Kokomo.Flcwer Girls Walter McMannis, Jr., cousin of the bride, was ring bearer, and nieces Diane and Dione Dunn, were her flower girls. They wore white nylon dresses with pink sashes and dropped petals of pink phaleonopsis in the aisle.Mrs. McMannis, mother of thebride, wore a lilac rayon cotton dress with white accessories. Her corsage was of baby white orchids and pink sweetheart roses. A pastel nylon tulle dress over taffeta and white accessories was worn by Mrs. Brown, mother of the bridegroom. Her corsage was also of white orchids and sweetheartses. *Reception FollowsThe couple received 150 guests at a reception which followed in the church social rooms. They were from Tipton, Hemlock, Koko mo, Indianapolis, Elwood, Whites town, Frankfort, Laporte and South Bend. Guests were registered by Mrs. Larry Beach and Miss Georganna Brown, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of gifts.Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hiatt, of Sheridan, were in charge with Misses LaVeda Horton, Cathy Fox Judith Knotts and Ann Jones as sisting. They wore white aprons with their names printed in pink and lilac. The four-tiered wedding cake was topped with a miniature bride and groom.For her wedding trip the bride selected a mint green chemise dress with white accessories. He will leave for service on returning from their honeymoon. iThe bride was graduated from Tipton in 1957 and is employed as a secretary at Oakes Manufactur ing company.
