W. Maakestad officiating. Mrs. Sherman Gunderson was organist.Baskets cf white gladioli appointed the altar and were placed about the chancel.The bride’s gown was fashio-ned in ballerina length of all-over embroidered cotton styled with empire waist, bertha collar, short sleeves and full skirt. Her clip hat was of white velvet and net with small veil* attached. She carried a white orchid and her only jewelry consisted of pearl earrings, gift of the bridegroom.Sifrit poured ccffce and Mrs. Cory Haas served cake.Those who attended the shower are Mrs. Ronald Hoffnieyer, Mrs. Richard Hanson and Sandra, Mrs. John Baker. The first tier of the cake was of four cake bells, each of which was separated by a large sugar bell and two smaller ones. In front of the cake was placed a tiny pair of white sugar slippers, decorated with tiny blue roses. Above the first tier colonades rose to hold a three-tiered cake which was topped with a fan-shaped background of lilies of the valley and blue roses. Blue and white tapers in double'crystal holders and low arrangements of flame-colored gadi-oli in blue crystal bowls flanked the cake. Other table appointments carries cut the color scheme of blue, white and silver.a wel* Dominy the au-Happy Hustlers Hold Achievement ShowThe annual Achievement Show of the Jack Creek Happy Hustlers 4-H Club was held Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, Ringsted.The program included come by President Anne and group singing with dience taking p3rt. Piano and vocal solos were offered by Linda Knapp. She sang “High Hopes” and “4-H Pastoral.” A poem, “Fair Time,” written by one of our leaders, Mrs. Owen Anderson, was read by Mary Twait, Mary Jensen and Gayle Loewenberg. A piano solo was played by Marlys Olson. Winners in the style revue were as follows: Junicr, Linda Knapp, first, and Gayle Loewenberg, second; Intermediate, Marlys Olsen, first, and Janet Anderson, second; Senior, Judy Anderson, first, and Anne Dominv, second.jMrs. Einar Hansen and Mrs. Asgar Hansen cut and served the wedding cake with Mrs. Donald R. Mrs. Breyfogle presented the lesson study and she also had charge of the* devotions and the business session which followed.Announcement was made that the September meeting is to be in the home of Mrs. Merle Grems.Mrs. Robert Gray was hostess to 33 members of the Weber group and two guests, Mrs. Beatrice Rosenow and Mrs. Darrel Peck.Mrs. Ed Shirley had charge of the lesson study and Mrs. Ethel Athey led devotions. Mrs. JoeBrakeman Reg Ellis, 55, had fallen backward onto the track from a slow moving train and fractured his leg.After a few cries for help, he thought, of a half-empty box of matches in his pocket. He began striking them and tossing the little specks of light into the air.The fireman of a train moving or the adjoining track saw the •strange flares.
