Russell E. RobertsRussell E. Roberts, 61, of 409 Beechcroft Road, Winchester, died Thursday in Winchester Medical Center.Mr. Roberts was born April 18, 1923, in Rappahannock County, the son of James and Elizabeth Davenport Roberts. He was a custodian for C. L. Kline. He was a member of Guildfield Primitive Baptist Church, and a trustee, chairman and member of the board of deacons of the church. He was vice president of the Macedonia Club.Surviving are his wife, Barbara L. Roberts; three daughters, Lucille Williams of Boyce, Sheila Robertson of Herndon, and Veronica Puryear of Alexandria; six sons, Russell E. Roberts Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Andrew Roberts of Staunton, Joseph Roberts of Berryville, Jason Roberts of Honolulu, Hawaii, Stacey Roberts of Petersburg, and Donald Roberts of Suitland, Md.; four brothers, James Roberts of Winchester, Walter Roberts of Utica, N.Y., Robert Lee Roberts of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Herman Roberts of San Antonio, Texas; and four sisters, Lorraine Wedlock of Berryville, Mable Williams and Ruth Washington, both of Winchester, and Lucy Cristan of Stephens City.A funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Guildfield Primitive Baptist Church, Millwood, with the Rev. Calvin Baltimore and the Rev. Lindsay Green officiating. Burial will be in Little Chapel Cemetery in Millwood.Pallbearers will be sons of Mr. Roberts.The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Guildfield Primitive Baptist Church.Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the church.
