Evangeline is scene of weekend weddingMiss Deborah Lynn Boilich became the bride of Derek Guillory Saturday at the FirstBaptist Church in Evangeline.Miss Boilich is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Boilich of lota and Guillory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Guillory of Jennings.The bride’s father, Robert Boilich, officiated at the double ring ceremony.Jonny Miller was the pianist with Connie White as soloist. She sang “Follow Me“, “Whither Thou Goest”, and * ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ ’.Gold, yellow, bronze and orange glads and mums were placed in the church. A fan shaped arrangement was placed at the baptistry withsmall arrangements placed on the piano and organ. Magnolias were placed on the windowsills.The bride was lovely in a floor length white knit gown. The empire bodice and wrists of the long sleeves featured insert lace. A chapel length train fell from the waistline. She wore a finger tip length veil of illusion with the headpiece crown of white rosebuds and seed pearls. She carried a V-shaped bouquet of yellow flowers.Hildy Whiddon served as maid of honor. She wore a semi-fitted yellow crepe floor length gown. The gown featured a V-neckline, cape collar, and empire waistline.She carried a bouquet of autumn color flowers.Becki Boilich of Iota, Charlotte Reed of Iota and Elaine Eastman of Jennings served as bridesmaids. They were dressed identical to the maid of honor.Randy Duhon served as best man. Bill Guillory of Jennings, Dirk Bertrand of Jennings and Darrell Miller of Evangeline served as groomsmen, Randy Guillory and Ted Gillard of Jennings served as ushers.Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church hall. The hall was decorated with English ivy and arrangements of autumn colored flowers. The rice was also in autumn colors.The wedding cake was a three tiered confection. Columns separated the tiers withthe bride and groom under an archway topping the cake. The cake was decorated in light yellow flowers and green leaves.Presiding at the bride’s book was Paula LeJeune. Assisting in hospitality duties were Mrs. E.H. Trahan, Mrs, Wallace Bertrand, Mrs. George Gillard, Mrs. James Dickerson, Mrs. Edward Richard, Mrs. Clifford Whiddon and Mrs. Winston Smith.Mrs. Boilich received her guests in a brown and white plaid garbardine street length dress.Mrs. Guillory assisted in receiving the guests in a saltand pepper knit street length dress of navy, light blue and white. A short sleeve jacketcomplimented the dress.For a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the bride left wearing a light yellow garbardine short sleeve jacket and skirt with a multi coloredblouse. She wore a corsage of autumn colors.The bride is a graduate of Iota High School and is a sophomore at McNeese State University. The groom is a graduate of Jennings High School and attended USL. The couple will make their home in Lake Charles.Out of town guests were registered from Jennings, lota, Crowley, Marrero, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Oberlin, Oakdale, Egan, Westlake, Sulphur, Starks, New Iberia, Iowa, Alvin, Tex., and Belmont Calif.Bridal Shower honorsD
