Patricia Rose, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Rose and Galan Nissen, son of Mr - and Mrs H George Nissen, all of Bayard, were united in marriage in St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bayard Thursday, July 4, at nine-thirty in the morning. The double ring ceremony was*officiated by Father Frank Palmer.Carol Hogue sang “The Wedding Song.” She also played the flute and sang “Colour My world” after the exchange of vows. She was accompanied by Mrs Ray Schwartz, organist.The bride was given in marriage by her fahter. Her peasant style gown of white organza had flourishes of cotton lace forming cap sleeves, a scallop bodice and a wide skirt with a narrow band of matching lace. Her elbow length veil was of white tuelle with a head piece of lace petals and pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, daisy pom pons and baby breath with streamers of white lace.Gayle Rose and Pam Conrad, sisters of the bride, were maid of honor and bridesmaid. Their gowns were of pastel plaids, Gayle in blue, green and yellow and Pam in orange, green and yellow. Each wore a yellow straw picture hat and carried yellow and white daisy pom pons.Bob Nelsen of Cedar Falls was best man. Myron Nissen, brother of the groom, was groomsman.Darrold Conrad’and Marty Nissen ushered the invited guests.Honored guests were grandparents, Mr and Mrs Felix Greteman of Templeton, Mrs Hilda Nissen of Bayard and Seth Parker of Coon Rapids.Mr and Mrs Gailain Coenen were reception hosts. Mrs Larry Hilgenberg was in charge of the guest book.The wedding cake was served by Kay Burkhardt and Gaye Hilgenberg. Marda Calder and Carol Nissen served coffee and punch.Mrs Lester Peckumn was in charge of the reception. She was assisted by Eleanor Sheer.After a weekend at Lake Okoboji the couple is in Bayard.A rehearsal supper was hosted by Mr and Mrs George Nissen in the South Side Lounge in Coon Rapids.MR AND MRS GALAN NISSEN
