1 have arrived safely in Frauen. 1 am now in a quaint little village named Montriehanl, not far from Tours, so you can tell what part of the country I amin.In this part of France the houses are built of bleaks of stone that look like e.halk dug from the mountains. In some places von see only the windows and doors, the house being in the side of a hill, with the chimneys rising out of the top of the hill. There is also a large castle here that has stool for hundreds of years, and lias seen many bloody battles long ago. In fact this is a beautiful country, ntyl at this time of the year it surely is “sunny Franco.” It looks to me like they raise mostly wheat and grapes. The vinevads reach for miles and miles, and as far as you can see is the ripening grain. They say here that the throo principal crops arc wheat, grapes and children. Bread from the wheat, win.* from the grapes and soldiers from the children.
