Mr. and Mrs. David John Masson IIilt;Roth-Masson exchanged on lawnMiss Penelope Sue Roth of Iowa City became the bride of David John Masson II of Winfield, in a ceremony on the lawn at the Faith Baptist Church in Washington Saturday, August 4. 1973, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Duane Perry, pastor of the church, led the double ring ceremony.Miss Roth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Rex Roth of Washington. Parents of Mr. Masson are Ruth Masson of Winfield and David J. Masson of Chicago.The bride was attired in a gown of white on white, with Juliet sleeves and a ruffled scoop neckline. A wide ruffle decorated the skirt at the bottom and the dress was trimmed with light blue buttons and light blue lace. She wore an opal pendant, a gift from the bridegroom, and carried white daisies.Miss Cathy Gillesby of Washington was the maid of honor and Miss Marti Roth served as bridesmaid Both are from Washington.Bob Masson of Winfield, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and John Clingman of Iowa City, the groomsman.Kevin Roth of Washington, brother of the bride; Lance Chrissinger and Steve Norder of Winfield seated the guests.Special music was provided by Miss Phyllis Krabill who accompanied herself with a guitar.The bridesmaids were attired in dresses of light blue and white seersucker, fashioned after the bride's gown, with short puffed sleeves and high necklines.A reception was held in the basement rooms at the church.The newlyweds will be at home in IowacCity where the bridegroom is a student at vthe University of Iowa.
