August 3rd, Miss Annabels Shelby, only daughter ofMr and Mrs. Harley Shelby of0Route 3, Sikeston. became the bride of Carl Edward Merideth, Merideth of Route 2, Sikeston.The Rev. Tommy Caudle per-formed the double ring ceremony at eight o’clock in the evening in the Little Vine Baptist Church before members of the family and personal friends.Die sanctuary was beautifully decorated with a nuotial arch entwined with white gladioli and greenery and two large arrangements of palm leaves. Completing the decorations were two branched candelabra holding glowing tapers and a whiteprieu dieu.Miss Diedre Harber, pianist, was attired in blue satin in keeping with the bride’s chosen color theme. She played “Unchained Melody” immediately before the ceremony and accompanied Mrs. Brenda Voss of Painton as she sang “Walk Hand In Hand.” “Oh, Promise Me” and “0 Perfect Love” as the couple knelt.Rscorted by Fatherlace appliques enhanced !he bodice front of the gown which was 1 designed and fashioned by the bride, and soft unpressed pleatsterminated into a bell shaped skirt with a scalloped hemline which flowed into a chapel train. Her finger tip veil of French illusion trimmed with a wide border of alencon lace was held secure by a princess crown of tiny irridescent sequins and seed pearls. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the groom and she carried a white Bible toppedwith white carnations and whitesatin streamers tied in lovers’ knots. The bride carried ut the something old, new, borrowedand blue theme in her attire.Her only attendant was her cousin, Mrs. Wayne Voss ofPainton who served as matron of honor. She wore a baby blue ! street length dress styled with scalloped neckline, shorteyelet dress wfth black accessories and Mrs. Menz wore a blue lace dress with white accessories.ReceptionThe bride and groom received approximately 7o guests at a reception held in the church dining room immediately following the ceremony. The bride’stable was overlaid with white and centered with the three tiered wedding cake which was trimmed with wedding bells, topped with the traditional miniature bride and groom and surrounded by a circlet of white carnations and greenery.At each end of the table was a seven branch candlebra holding glowing tapers and completing the setting was a large crystal punch bowl. She wore a blue floral hat, white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.Mrs. Merideth, the groom’s mother, chose a pale pink dacron dress with full pleated skirt.
