THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 1959Couple Exchanges Wedding VowsMr. ond Mrs.Miss Marcia Jean Vander Ploeg i became the bride of Bert Londo Jr. July 17 at an 8 p.m. double ring ceremony in the Sixth Reformed Church with the Rev. Henry A Moouw officiating.The parents of the bride are Mr and Mrs. Herbert Lee Vander Ploeg. 387 Lincoln Ave. and tiie groom’s parents are Mr. and Mr Bert Londo Sr., 409 Myrtle, Grand RapidsThe church was decorated with palms and ferns with a background of huckleberry, bouquets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums and spiral candelabra.Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a floor-length gown of net and tulle featuring chantilly bands on the bodice and on the bouffant skirt extending to the chapel trail of tulle. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion fell from a dome -shaped cap of. chantilly lace topped with a tiny pearl and sequin She carried a' cascade bouquet of white Kaiser-j ine roses, feathered carnations j and baby’s breath.Mrs. Donald Hoeve. matron of honor and sister of the groom, wore a ballerina - length gown , of green taffeta with a fitted bo dice and bouffant skirt, topped I with a white lace jacket, with short sleeves and a white busfie bow' at. the waist. She wore a matching half hat with chin veil and carried a cascade bouquet of yellow feathered carnations tied with a yellow bow.The bridesmaid, Mrs. Terry Kmpers, wore a ballerina length gown of yellow taffeta and carried a bouquet of orchid feathered carnations tied with an orchid bow.Amber Ruth Vander Ploeg, sister of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. She wore a ballerina-length gown of orchid taffeta and carried a cascade bouquet of yellow feathered carnation tied with a green bow The miniature bride Nancy Lee Cook, cousin of the bride, wore a floor-length white gown with aSaerials!Bert Londo Jr.fBulford photo lace bodice and bouffant skirt. Her short veil fell from a crown hat and she carried a miniature bouquet similar to that of the bride.The miniature bridegroom was Philip Ross Vander Ploeg, brother of the bride.The groom chose Martin Webber as the best man and the ushers were James Nash and Herbert Vander Ploeg Jr., brother of the bride.Clarence Walters was the or- . ganist and the soloist was Mrs. George Lumsden who sang Because” and “The Lord's Prayer.” At the reception for 130 guests | in the Fellowship Hall of the Church Mr. and Mrs. Jan B. The gift room was in charge of \ Mrs. Martin Weber and Miss Shir- . ley Van Norden and the guest book attendant was Miss Marlene ; Blokj For her going away dress the j | new' Mrs. Londo wore a blue silk j j chiffon dress with a pink hat and t accessories and the white cor- t sage from her wedding bouquet.For her daughter's wedding Mrs. i Vander Ploeg chose a pink lace t sheath dress with chiffon cummerbund and drape and the | groom's mother selected a oink flowered sheer. Both had corsages j of pink roses and carnations.The bride was graduated from ■ Holland High School and attended *J Hope College. She is employed by j11 the Holland Furnace Co. The e groom was graduated from Union j c High School in Grand Rapids and J is now in the U.S. Marines. He is, j being transferred to the Hawai- j C ian Islands. His wife will join him t. later. !
