Bernard, July 7, 1853.Brother Franklin: Dear Sir : — I propose,* by your permission, laying before the readers of the Christian Age, a brief account of the Bentonville Debate. This discussion, as the readers of the Age have already been advised, was held in Bentonville, Fayette county, Indiana, commencing qn the 17th of May, and continuing four days, between Brother H. R. Pritchard and Mr. B. F. Foster, editor of the Gospel Herald, aUni versalist paper, published in Madison, Indiana.The proposition was : “The Scriptures of the Old and of the New Testament teach thfe final holiness and happiness of all mankind.” Mr. Foster was the affirmant, and brother Pritchard the respondent.Mr. Foster’s first argument in support of this proposition, was founded upon the de-
