Folowlng the ceremony the bride,escorted by the bridegroom, placed a basket of orchid asters and yellow daisies on the Blessed Virgin’s altar.Mass Elaine Harritt. Washington, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Miss Linda Harritt, Washington, another sister of the bride, and Miss Jure Barrett, Neoga, Illinois. and Miss Barbara Bassler, Washington, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids.William Hauser. Birdseye, friend of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Gib Verkamp, Hunt-ingburg; Curt Meyer, Jasper; and Tom Jerger, Washington. ISharon Kay Brandt and Kevin Michael Brandt, Jasper, were flower girl and ring bearer.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk peau de soie. The molded bodice featured ! a rounded neckline that was accented with lace appiiqued roses embellished with seed pearls and sequins. The roses were repeated on the front of the bodice and on the controlled bell skirt, which swept to the back into a full chapel train. Long sleeves tapered to traditional bridal points. Her bouffant imported illusion veil was secured to a tiny cluster of roses highlighted with pearl sprays. She carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias centered with a purple orchid.The bride’s attendants wore dresses of white basket-weave amel. The bodices featured rounded necklines and short sleeves. The gowns were similar to the bride's, with controlled dell skirts and large self-fabric cabbage roses on the back. They wore cabbage rose hats of self-fabric, short mitts and white patent shoes. They carried white wicker baskets filled with yellow daisies and ivy foliage.Mrs. Harritt, the bride’s mother, wore a cream-colored pleated dress with beige accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a white silk boucle dress with spice trim and matching accessories. Each had a Durule orchid corsage.
