On Wednesday evenin'* Aug. 1,- ~ iat the home of the bride’s parents. 702 Linden avenue, Logansport. occurred the marriage of Miss Gertrude Sears and Chas. E. Cook, both former residents of Kewanna.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sears, formerly of this place, and is a young lady possessing all the noble elements of true womanhood. The groom who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Cook of Kewanna. is known to every resident of this community as a young man of sterling worth and sturdy character. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. H. Or. Ogden of Attica, formerly of Kewanna, in the presence of a number of near relatives and friends. The happy couple were the recipients of a number of valuable presents, among which was $100 in gold, presented by the groom’s parents. O. E. Co*k and family, Andrew Jackson and wife, Mrs-J. M. Washburn and Miss Alma Bennett attended from Kewan-na.The young couple arrived here yesterday noon and about eighty i fiiends were royally entertained in | their honor last evening at the j home of the groom’s parents, east •oftowu. They will remain here | until Saturday when they will return to Logausport for a four days’ visit with the bride’s parents, after which they will go to housekeeping at Matthews, where the groom is engagedinthe clothing business.
