At the hour of 8 o'clock die invited guests began to arrive and bvhalt past eight the large spacious rooms nnd parlors were filled to overflowithere being hy this time about two him-;||,M| hdty to three hundred present.1 lie rooms and parlors were decoratedwith evergreen and flowers in an artistic manner so much so that the whole spaec including rooms, parors and halls, presented the appearance and life of a wellarranged flower garden, and the beauty of the scene was of general remark Sooneveryone was on the move, shaking hands, greeting old friends, and makim-cw acquaintances until the large andgay assemi.lv became one grand social tamily and every one was glad Lhev werethere as attested hy the merry ring ofn'ir voices and the happy condition of social nature. Every where in this ,-ce of mirth could he seen Mr. Lawrence giving a hearty welcome to eaeh and all andhy Ins rare tact of soeiyl culture making them feel that they were at home.
