Marriage Bella. The residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Guise, on New street, was filled to overflowing this morning by invited guests to witness the marriage of Mr. George Runyon, ship builder, and son of Mr. John Runyon, to Miss Mellie Lewis, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guise. At 10.30 o’clock Miss Van Kirk played a wedding march on the organ, which was the signal for the bridal party to march from the lower to the second floor, where the ceremony took place, the to-be-wedded couple taking up their position in the front parlor.Rev. J. R. Van Kirk delivered the pre-leminary address or formula, and Rev. E. C. Hancock of the Pitman M. E. Church performed the rest of the ceremony, tying the Gordian knot, pronouncing it good, and invoking the Divine blessing on the holy compact. The young couple having sealed the agreement, they were introduced to the company by the celebrant as Mr. and Mrs. George Runyon, and as such were heartily and warmly congratulated on all sides. This pleasant exercise over, the friends, led by the bride and groom, repaired to the room below, where the wedding banquet was spread in the most liberal manner, and of which all partook and did full justice to.The bride, who is not yet out of her teens, looked charming, and she and her husband were the recipients of many handsome and valuable presents. We join our congratulations with the many friends, and hope there is before the happy couple, who left town this afternoon for Boston on their wedding tour, a long life of unalloyed bliss.
