Thomas Opett of Honesdale, became the bride of Robert Was-serman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wasserman of Carbon-dale, on Saturday morning, April 16, in St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale.The Rev. Joseph C. Streit, assistant pastor, performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Matthew Panek was soloist, and Mrs. Jack Kiegler, organist.The bride selected a gown of peau d’ange and Alencon lace trimmed with seed pearls and featuring long sleeves and a flared skirt of floor length. Her veil of silk illusion fell from a crown of pearls, and she carried a cascade of featheredcarnations and bridal roses, centered by an orchid. Bridesmaids were Miss Anna Niesen and Miss Katherine Coligan. A cousin of the bride. Miss1 Jeanne Villaume, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Villaume of Clarks Summit, was flower girl.. All wore identical gowns of white linen with panels of blue in the skirts, and their bouquets were of blue and white carnations.The bride’s nephew and godchild, Thomas Taaffe of Washington, D.C., was ring bearer. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taaffe, former Honesdale residents.Herbert Cornell of Carbon-dale was best man. Ushers were Thomas Opett of Binghamton and Lewis Wasserman of Car-bondale.A reception was held at the Alert fire hall.Mrs. Wasserman is a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School and Mercy Heights School of Nursing.
