A SECRET (VMISSION.DeWitt Cunningham’s Trip to Cadiz Suspected by Friends.DeWitt (Duke) Cunningham, wellknown about the city as a colored shoeshining artist and musician, left Wednesday for Cadiz under conditions which have aroused suspicion in the minds of his intimate friends. Duke has recently rented and furnished a small home in Paul street. He hast seemed particularly happy for the past week, and when asked Wednesday where he was going with all of the new toggery which lie was wealing, he replied: “To see my uncle at Cadiz.Duke’s “uncle at Cadiz” is thought to be none other than his best girl, a dusky maiden who is well known here among the colored inhabitants. Duke stolidly maintained for a week previous to bis departure that he was notthinking of matrimony, but each time a broad telltale grin spread over his countenance and the impression among his friends is that he will return within the next few days accompanied by one of Harrison county’s most popularcolored ladies as his bride.
