Linda Orcutt Becomes Bride Of Gary McCrightThe wedding Miss Linda Sue Orcutt and Gary James McCright took place at the Troy Mills Christian Church at 2 p. m. Saturday. April 13. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Orcutt and Mr. and Mrs. Gifford McCright of Coggon. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Hugh Ghormley. before the altar which was decorated with baskets of yellow mums and gladioli, and candelabra.The bride, given in marrfage by her father, wore a gown of crepe, with a lace bodice. Empire waist line, anda pleat in the front skirt. The Watteau chapel train was of lace, trimmed with crepe. Her shoulder length veil was held in place by a head piece oflace petals, etched in pearls. She carried a Colonial bouquet of white daisies, white roses and stephanotis.The matron of honor and brides-matron were her sister. Mrs. James Hilliard of Douglas. Georgia, and sister-in-law. Mrs. Bill Orcutt of Waterloo. They wore identical gowns of Balsam green linen-like rayon, fashioned with an Empire waist line, with yellow ribbons on the back, and trimmed with daisies. Their matching headpieces were trimmed with daisies and held a fly-away veil. They carried Colonial bouquets of white daisies.Attending his brother as best man was Jon McCright. and Marc Baty of Cedar Falls was groomsman. Ushers were Richard Comried of Dallas. Texas* Ralph Russell of Ames and Marc New-land.Candle lighters were the couples brothers, Jim Orcutt and Randy McCright Soloist was the bride's brother. BillOrcutt. who sang More”, accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Chester at the organ.Mrs. Marc Baty held the guest book.For her daughter's wedding. Mrs.Orcutt chose a knit jacket dress of Picadilly pink, with white accessories.The groom's mother wore a double knit coat dress of brown, aqua and white, with brown accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of white roses. Grandmothers of the couple. Mrs.Charlie Griffin of Marion, Mrs. H. B. Orcutt of Independence and Mrs.Gladys Comried of Center Point, all had white carnation corsages.br.ide u a W**uate of the Troy Mills school and graduated from the Mary Greeley School of Nursing at Ames in 1966. She is presently employed by Dr. William Bennett in Marion. Mr. McCright is a graduate of* the Coggon school and will graduatefrom the University of Iowa City in June. Mrs. Richard Comried cut the wedding cake, and the brides cousins the Misses Connie and Paula Orcutt ofMarion, served coffee and punch respectively. Ladies of the C. W. F. helped in the kitchen.After a wedding trip to Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. McCright will be at home at 875-26 St. Marion. For her going awaycostume, the bride chose a yellow knit dress with black accessories.LEGION PLANS DAY CONFERENCE AT BELLEVUEOver 300 representatives of the 48 American Legion Posts in the Second Legion District of Iowa are expected to attend the one-day spring conference at Bellevue on Saturday, April 27.The Second District is composed of the following counties: Clinton. Dubuque. Jackson, Jones. Linn and Scott.Registration for the Legion will begin at 9 a. m. in the Legion Hall. Glenn M. Dugger, Department Adjutant, will conduct a service school at 10 a. m. A school of instruction for Post commanders and adjutants will follow the service school. Marion P. Johnson. Asst. Department Adjutant, will be in charge.The afternoon business session will be conducted by District Commander BymcA. O'Brien of Dubuque. Committee charmen will report on their activities and delegates and alternates will be selected to attend the National Convention in New Orleans. Sept. 6-12. The afternoon session will close after the election of officers for the new Legion year.The Auxiliary will meet at the Bellevue Community School, with registration at 9 a. m. Business sessions will be in charge of Evelyn Postel, of Olln, District President of the Second District. They will also elect officers for the coming year, and choose delgates and alternates to attend the National Convention September 6-12 in New Orleans.The joint Legion-Auxiliary banquet will be held at 12 noon at the Bellevue school. Paul Kempter, Bellevue attorney, will act as Toastmaster. Featured speakers will be Chauncey A. Francis, Bloomfield. Department Commander of The American' Legiop, and Mis* Dorothy Christensen, Council Bluffs. President of the Auxiliary in Iowa.The day's activities will conclude with a smorgasbord at 6 p. m. and dancing from 9 to 12 p. m.
