DeVore,HochardELLERSLIE — Deborah Diane Hochard and William Roger DeVore were united in marriage one year ago on April 24,2004. The double ring ceremony took place at Eller-slie United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark R. Blair officiating.The bride is the daughter of Judith A. Moore, Cumberland, and the late Leroy Dale Moore. The groom is the son of the late Herbert DeVore and Margaret DeVore of Ellerslie.Given in marriage by her children, the bride was escorted to the altar by her two sons, Christopher Dale Hochard and Jonathan Howard Hochard.The bride wore a white Cin-derella-style gown from Kauffman’s. The bodice was adorned with crystal and pearl sequins. The gown featured an empire waistline with shirring to the side, falling to the floor in princess seams, with detachable long cathedral train which was removed after the wedding. The bride’s headdress was a princess tiara of crystals and pearls with a full-length veil.The bride wore a pearl necklace that belonged to her mother as something borrowed and something old. She carried a cascading bouquet of white, wine and pearl roses and baby’s breath. The flowers for the entire weddingparty were made by Annie Goebel of SonShine Wedding/Flowers.Serving as maid of honor was Rebekah Duncan, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Melissa Blacker, Cumberland, daughter of the bride; Kellie Hochard, Cumberland, daughter-in-law of the bride; Michelle Duncan, Sterling, Va., cousin of the bride; Vanessa Romero, Cumberland, friend of the bride; and Thea Hosselrode, Ken-nells Mill, friend of the bride and groom. The bride’s special little girl was her flower girl, Hannah Moore. The flower girl wore a white dress that matched the bride’s. Hannah carried a flower ball that matched the bride’s flowers with a Cinderella slipper attached. The bride’s attendants wore a two piece wine colored long gowns also from Kauffman’s and carried bouquets of wine roses, beads of pearls, white flowers, red roses and baby’s breath, with Cinderella slippers in each bouquet.Bob DeVore, Cumberland, nephew of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Wayne Shriner, Ellerslie, friend of the groom; Ron Clise, Port Deposit, nephew of the groom; Russ Pugh, Mount Savage, friend of the groom; Dickie DeVore, Ellerslie,DEVOREDeborah and Williamnephew of the groom; and Thomas Duncan, Sterling, cousin of the bride. The ring bearer was Jordan Hochard, son of the bride.Pianist was Randy Hille-gass, friend of the groom.After lighting the unity candles, the couple had communion together and offered and served communion to friends and family.While the couple was giving communion, “Amazing Love, by New Boys,” a song the couple picked out, was played. The couple then gave roses to family members. The bride gave the roses to the groom’s family, with a special rose in memory of the groom’s parents, and the groom gave roses to the bride’s family, with a special rose given to the bride’s mother in memory of the bride’s father. “Word of God Speak,” by Mercy Me, was played during this time.The bride and groom dedicated the service to the memory of their parents.The guest book was attended by Carolyn Duncan, aunt of the bride, and Rachel Duncan, cousin of the bride, distributed the programs and bubbles.The reception was held at Bowman’s Addition Fire Hall. The cake was baked by Bonnie Goebel. It had seven layers with a fountain in the middle with wine colored water. On the sides of the cake were silk wine and pearl colored flowers. Steps led to the top tier where the bride and groom statue was placed. Leading up the steps on one side of the cake were bridesmaids figurines and the other side had groomsmen figurines. At the bottom of the cake were the ringbearer and flower girl figurines. Silk flowers were around the table.The reception hall was decorated by Annie Goebel and Bobby Hite. The reception was catered by Bobby Hite of Hite Catering. At the reception, the couple danced to the first song, “Amazed,” by Lone Star. The photographer was Tonya Bender. The music was provided by Josh Emerick ofHyndman.Everyone did a wonderful job making our day special.The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bride and groom the day before the wedding and flowers and gifts were given out. The bride and groom had a special gift for the children that attended. They threw 15 pounds of candy in the air for them.Following the wedding, the bride and groom flew to Tampa Fla., and went on a cruise to the Caribbean to Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. The couple returned home and set up residence in Ellerslie.The couple, Debbie and Bill, would like to thank their families and many friends for taking time to celebrate, share and help make their special day so perfect.
