jLa Salle Girl Married at Spring ValleyMiss Mary Demes, daughter of Mrs. Helen J. Demes of La Salle, became the bride of John Karigan of Chicago, in a pretty ceremony performed at St. George’s Greek Orthodox church in Spring Valley at 3 p. m., Sunday. The Rev. Serafim Nassar pastor and the Rev. Renieris of Chi-Icago officiated.Miss Arlene Monterastelli, La Salle a close friend of the bride, Anne and Lupe Athas of Chicago, cousins of the bride-groom were the bridesmaids and Gregory Athas of Chicago, was the best man. Harriet Vanes of LaSalle served as best man and her brother Tickey was the ring bearer. The bridesmaids were attired in pretty gowns of pastel colored silk, with accessories to match. Each carried arm bouquets of roses.The bride is a graduate of La-Salle-Peru township high school. The bride-groom a son of Games Karigan of Chicago is proprietor of a hat cleaning establishment in Chicago.Miss Monterastelli’s gown of pink and her accessories were of blue; Miss Ann Athas wore gold color and Miss Lupe Athas, blue.
