D.Miss Creager spent the afternoon in Frederick with the Doctor. She is an attractive young woman, anti she seemed entirely unembarrassed by the peculiar position She was once the plaintiff in a suit against Miss Emma V. Saylor of Walkersville for damages for alleged slander, which w'as on the docket for the last term of the Circuit Court. A petition for removal of the case to another county for trial was fi’ed. but before the papers were made out the suit w’as settledMr. Creager was very vehement In dec’aring his satisfaction over the breaking off of the marriage. “I would rather see my daughter dead than married to that man.” he saidLate last night Mrs. Creager met her daughter and Dr Thiede on North Market street. After some words Miss Creager left Dr Thiede and went with her mother. On his way back to the City Hotel Dr Thiede met Mr Creager. There were some hot words between the two men and Dr Thiede then returned to the holel and joined his niece, who had been watting there for him.Miss Creager. with her parents, spent most of their time at a local hotel and whenever the young woman went out she was followed by one or the other of her parents They appeared to be fearful that she would e’ude them and get married to the Doctor, as It was rumored they would be.A lawyer said quite a scene took place between Dr Thiede and Mr. Creager in another lawyer’s office. He said he understood that the Div’tor \vas desirous of regaining posession of the watch and diamond ring which he had given his fiances, and to this end counsel for the two sldqg induced them to meet in this office to see what arrangement could be effected. Mr. and Mrs. Creager and their daughter were present, as were the Doctor and his niece. A heated conversation soon ensued, when Mr. Creager made a charge of a serious nature against the Doctor. Both men were on their feet instantly, when the counsel rush ed between the two principals and finally pacified them. In the commotion it is said one of the young ladles fainted. A lawyer who occupies an office over the one in which the alleged af fair tlt;x)k place said from the tumult and noise he thought a miniature cyclone had struck the building , and rushed dow-n the stairs to learn the cause El-City Attorney V. Frank Pampe! has been retained by Mr Creager as his counsel.
