Russell E. Bainter Weds Alice WaldoSailor Bridegroom Formerly Lived HerenRussell E. Bainter, son of Mr. and Mrs. True E. Bainter of Spencer, former LeMars residents, was married April 11 to Miss Alice Waldo of Burlingame, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. True Bainter lived in LeMars for several years where Mr. Bainter was in the barber business.Russell attended school and enlisted in the navy while a youth in the LeMars school about five years ago. The Spencer Times says of the wedding:“Mr. and Mrs. True Bainter, 35 West First street, received a telegram^ last Sunday announcing the marriage of their only son, Russell Emerson Bainter, on that date, April 11. The bride was Miss Alice Waldo of Burlingame, Cal.“The wedding service was read at 10:30 o’clock on Sunday morning at Reno, Nevada. Further details of the nuptial event have not yet been learned by Mr. and Mrs. Bainter. News of the wedding did not come as a surprise however, for both their son and his bride had written of their, intentions to marry as soon as the bridegroom could arrive home and have shore leave. He is stationed on an aircraft carrier in Pacific waters.“Mr. Bainter has been in the United States navy for the past five years and was in Pearl Harbor at the time of the treacherous bombardment on December 7, 1941.“He was educated in the Cherokee and LeMars high schools. He has not been at home for a visit for more than four years.”I
