The Young Couple Popular in Church and Society Circles — Amateur Minstrels Amuse Suburban Clubmen. Euchre Club Meeting-Bowling Tournament Finished.Miss Helen L. Drowne, daughter of the Rev.Dr. T. Stafford Drowne, secretary of the Epis-*copal diocese of Long Island, and Philip C. Bergen, both popular young residents of Flatbush, were united in marriage at 8 o’clock last night In St. Paul’s church, Flatbush. The Rev. S. E. Snively of Philadelphia, formerly rector of St. Paul’s church, performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev, T. G. Jackson, the present rector. The benediction was pronounced by the Rev. Samuel Haskins, rector of St. Mark’s church, this city. Archdeacon Edmond D. Cooper of Astoria and the Rev. William P. Brush of Jersey City, friends of the contracting parties, occupied places in the chancel. The church was decorated with palms and Easter lilies. The bridal party formed in the vestibule and moved up theaisle to the strains of the Lohengrin march, the bride on the arm of Leonard B. Drowne. She was met at the altar by the rector of the church and the bride's father, who gave her away. Little Miss Edith Drowne, a cousin of the bride, dressed in white swiss, trimmed with green ribbon and carrying a bouauet of white carnations, was tho maid of honor. The bridesmaids in gowns of white organdie, trimmed with white satin ribbon, wearing short tulle vaiis and carrying bouquets of white carnations, were Miss Mary Morgan, Miss Ruth Morgan, both of Hartford, Conn.; Miss Georgie Merrill of Flatbush and Miss Ethel Drowne of Providence, R. I., all cousins of the bride. The best man was Robert W. Morgan, an uncle of the bride. Charles Livingston, Tunis Williamson, John Chrystie and E. Parry Morgan were the ushers.The bride’s gown was of heavy white ivory satin, with handsome pearl trimmings. She wore a vail of tulle and carried white bride’s roses. Immediately after the ceremony thobridal party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents, at Bedford avenue and Win-tbrop street, where a reception was held until 11 o’clock, and then Mr. and Mrs. Bergen started for an extended trip through the South. The house decorations were of palms and pink roses. The young couple, who were popular in church and society circles, were the recipients of many beautiful and costly presents. When Mr. and Mrs. Bergen return they will welcome their friends at their new home, at 141 East Nineteenth street, Flatbush.
