Ruth Land-StephenWallpe WedRuth Lynn Land became the bride of Stephen Joseph Wallpe in a double-ring ceremony at two thirty o’clock Saturday afternoon. April 19, in the St. Mary Catholic Church in Greensburg.Father William Fisher performed the ceremony. At the altar were two bouquets of pink and yellow mums. Miss Pam Lawrence, Greensburg, was organist and played “Love Story,” “If,” “The Wedding March,” “Ave Maria,” “We Walk With God,” “The Wedding Song: There Is Love,” “The Lord’s Prayer,” and “Recessional. She accompanied Mrs. John Thackery, Greensburg, soloist.Mr. and Mrs. Loren Land, R.1, Milroy, are the parents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wallpe, R. 6, Greensburg, are the groom’s parents.The bride chose a floor-length gown of nylon organza with Chantilace. Chantilace accents were on the front and high neckline of the bodice. The long full Bishop sleeves had wide lace fitted cuffs. The A-line skirt was trimmed with lace which was around the hemline. Her long detachable chapel-length train had Chantilace accents and the long chapel-length mantilla was edged in lace to complete the total look MrsJTfychard Schilling, R. 5, Greeijstki#i| sister of the bride, w^s matron of honor. Her dress was styled of lace over taffeta with empire waist, with ties in back. V-neckline with lace ruffle and long sleeves. She carried a bouquet of pink and yellow daisies and wore a crown of daisies in her hair. Her jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift from the bride.The bridesmaids were Sara Land, sister of the bride, Milroy, who wore a yellow dress; Rose Ann Wallpe, sister of the groom, Greensburg. and Mrs. Fred Beyer, Shelbyville, in pink, Their dresses, flowers and jewelry were the same as the matron of honor.Ron Land, Milroy, brother of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Philip Wallpe, John Wallpe and Eugene Wallpe, brothers of the groom. Greensburg. The ushers were David Land, Milroy, brother of the bride; Jim Wallpe, Greensburg, brother of the groom, and Wayne Fields, St. Paul.The bride’s mother chose a green and white polyester knit dress, with empire waistline and long sleeves, and matching short green jacket. The groom’r, mother wore a green polyester knit dress with fitted bodice and long sleeves She wore a pearl necklace and carried white accessories. Both mothers hadcorsages of white daisies with pink and yellow ribbon trim. Mrs. William Herbert, R. 1, Milroy and Mrs. William Raver,R. 6, Greensburg, grandmothers, had pink and yellow ' daisy corsages.The reception followed at the 1 Knights of Columbus Hall in Greensburg The serving table was laid with a white skirt with pink and yellow ribbon throughout the skirt. A three-tier cake in the center of the table was arranged with a two-tier cake on either side. A bridge connected the two small cakes to the center cake. On the stairway a replica of the bridal attendants was arranged in costume matching the wedding party. The cake was made by Mrs. Richard Herbert, aunt of the bride.After a short wedding trip south, the couple will be at home on R. 1, Greensburg.The bride graduated from North Decatur High School in 1973 and is employed at Town and Country Animal Clinic. The groom graduated from North Decatur High School in 1971 and is employed at Wenning’s Bins and Buildings in Greensburg.
