Tne sanctuary of the Bloomfield Christian Church was the setting for the Saturday, April 14, 1973 wedding of Carol Sue Henderson to Glen Marvin Howard. The bride is the daughter of-Mr. and Mrs. Vern Henderson of Drakesvilie. Mr, and Mrs. Marvin Howard of Moulton are the parents of the bridegroohi. ,The lines of the double ring, candlelight cereniony were read at 7:00 p.m. by Rev, Robert Allen, pastor of the church, from an altar appointed with branched candelabra and baskets of blue and while flowers. Large blue bows marked the pews.Sandy Moore, niece of the groom, registered the guests, who were then seated by ushers Jackie Henderson of Drakesville, brother of the bride, and Jack Howard of Moulton, brother of the groom Mrs, Carol Priester of Bloomfield was at the organ. The candles were lighted by Kim Mathews and Kathy Moore, both of Lancaster, niece of the groom.The bride, given in marriage by her father was radient in a white floor length gown of traditional bridal satin. The empire waisted, princess slhouette gown was fashioned with a chapel train, long sleeves, and a high collar. White lace shaped the bodice in a vee pattern and extended to the hem in an expanding design. Tiny covered buttons further accented the front of the gown and the cuffs. Her floor length veil fell softly from a lace and satin tiara, sprinkled with pearls. Her flowers were white roses, daisies and baby’s breath, positioned on a white Bible.The bridal attendants were Jan-na Bader of Plattesville, Wise., maid of honor, and Denise Kinsler of Indianapolis, Ind., bridesmaid. Their floor length gowns were of powder blue dotted swiss. fashioned with a high neckline and long sleeves. Deep royal blue, sleeveless bolero jackets accented their gowns. Powder blue veils and bouquets of deep blue flowers completed their attire. Marcia Hopkins of Drakesville, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress was of powder blue dotted svviss also, with a softly gathered skirt. A self ruffle outlined the high neck, long sleeves and edge of the skirt. Royal blue velvet buttons accented the bodice. She wore a matching veil and carried a small white basket of daisy petals.The groom’s nephew, Rex Davis of Moulton, was best man, with Ron Curtis of Centerville as the groomsman. Young Mark Henderson of Drakesville, nephew of the bride, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.The bride’s mother wore a long sleeved, princess style dress of powder blue double knit and a corsage of white sweetheart roses. An A-line dfress of navy blue with matching long organdy sleeves and a corsage of white sweetheart roses was worn by the mother of the groom.A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The reception table was centered with a three tiered, posted white cake, accented with blue roses and white hearts, and topped with the traditional bride and groom. The cake was cut and served by Carolyn Hopkins of Drakesville, sister of the bride, and Betty Henderson, aiso of Drakesville, sister-in-law of the bride. Coffee was poured by Diane Davis of Moulton and Barbara Howard of Moulton dipped punch. Both are nieces of the groom.The bride is a 1971 graduate of Davis County Community Schools and is employed at Mott Quarries inc., in Centerville. Mr. Howard is a 1967 graduate of Moulion-Udell High School, now employed at Sidles Automotive Sto^e in Centerville.For her going away ensemble the bride chose a royal blue A-iine dress with white accessories The couple will make their home on Route 2, Moulton.Out of town guests were from Lancaster, Milton, Centerville, Moulton, Ottumwa, Udell, Piattes-ville, Wise., and Indianapolis, Ind.
