D. 1, of I ariaTER11 BeSt. Omar Chapter, Eastern Star, gave their Easter party at Tomer hall Moodily evening with great pelaet and despite the indemency of the weather a large number of couples turned out to enjoy the first datiee given after the Lenten season. The fact that the rain poured down in torrents did not seem hi dampen the ardor of the dancers tor they all were out to have a good time and if merry laughter ami smiling faces are indicative of light heart;: to tlm onlooker it could readily he seen that all the company there assembled had thrown aside cares and were drinking deeply of the cup of pleasure.There was some considerable delay in starting the ball to rolling, it being h before the grand march was aimnmmwl. Mrs, Chus. Joss and Ferdinand Gvmievt led the dancers through a number of pretty figures. Following the grand march the calling of several quadrilles met the disapproval of the dancers, nmny not going on the tloor for them. With fewer quadrilles and more round dances in faster succession the stiffness and formality wore away and it was then that the good time commenced.About 12 o'clock the ladies served a very fine supper in the basement of the hall and all were bountennsly served, general sati sf ad ion being given in this department.' Darling's orchestra was out in full force and succeeded in pleasing the dancers immensely. Previous to the grand march the musicians gave a concert in which music of the highest grade only was played.Little attempt at hall decoration was made, the only ornamentation being several large flags that hung from I he ceiling. Dainty gowns of a great variety of color were worn by the ladies and made the dance floor very beautiful and interesting. Arc electric lights added to the splendor of the scene.The attendance of spectators was not large and about eighty conple3 occupied the dance floor. The total receipts were fUS,- which would have been greatly increased had the weather been favorable.
