Sarah was the dau. of Jacob and Hannah Lurvey, b. June 22, 1786, at Newbury, Mass., bpt. a* Mt Desert, Aug. 30, 1789. She m. 1st- Dec. 30, 1802, Moses Ladd, “a sojourner,” and settled in Newbury, Vt. Moses served in War of 1812 and d. in camp at Platsburg, N. Y. His widow with her children returned to her father at Mt. Desert where she soon m, Eliab Go:t. Children cf Eliab and Sarah:1. Martha, b. Res Cranberry Isles.By the death of Sarah Lurvey Gott, May 20, 1816, not only were her twin daughters, Mary and Martha, left motherless but her five children by her first husband, Moses Ladd became orphans.Thomas and Mary Hadlock Manchester who lived on Great Cranberry Isle, took Irene and Hiram Ladd and their half sister, Mary Gott, the latter's birth being recorded in the Cranberry Isles Town Records under Thomas Manchester’s record. Irene Ladd is sometimes referred to as Urilla or Lorilla which was not her name.
