Pretty Thelma Hovis, 15, New Lenox Road, for whom a nation wide search has been underway since she disappeared from her home several months ago, was found late yesterday by Sheriff Michael Breen and Deputy Thom . The young girl, who is now mar ried,has been at the home of her mother, New Lenox Road for the several days. She has made no public appearance, according to the sheriff, who a couple of days ago received some information that “the Hovis girl was in this vicinity.” Late yesterday the sheriff and his deputy visited the residence of the girl’s mother. They were told that she was there with her hus band. She was then questioned by the officers. The girl said she left here last September 5 in an automobile be longing to Edward Pay, operator of a Chinese laundry at 214 Jef ferson St. She said she took the car without his permission and drove to Oklahoma where she sold the machine for $25. Later she obtained a job as house maid on a farm. “While I was working at the farm I fell in love with George Pontius, a young man 20 years old, and got married in Grove, Okla homa,” the girl said, “then we went to Arkansas City where we lived until a couple of weeks ago and things got sort of bad and we thumbed our way here.” Sheriff Breen notified the girl and her husband to appear at his office today. A detailed state ment of her story will be made to the sheriff and investigators from the office of the state’s attorney. Just what action will be taken regarding the automobile which she departed with is not known. The young newlyweds were not arrested, but warned that failure to appear at the court house would result in their arrest.
