Buryanek, daughter of Mrs. Bessie Suryanek of Westfield, and Robert L. Philips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Philips of Akron, Saturday, April 8, at 8 p. m.Miss Buryanek was given in marriage by her brother, Leonard Buryanek. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Joseph Steele of the Congregational church in Westfield assisted by the Rev. Virgil Shikell of Adaville.The bride was lovely in a princess style gown of heavy white satin made with a nylon lace bodice and long sleeves ending in points at her wrists. Her fingertip veil fell from a satin braid tiara. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses.Miss Vera Buryanek, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and Miss Cieone Philips, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. They wore similar gowns made respectively of orchid and mint green taffeta which were fashioned with fited bodices and dirndl skirts. They both wore long mitts matching their gowns, and floral tiaras. They carried colonial bouquets of sweet peas and roses.Robert Bliss and Jim Buryanek, j brother of the bride, attended the .bridegroom and Richard Philips and Floyd Brown were ushers.The fnothers of the bride and bridegroom wore street length dresses of navy sheer and shoulder corsages of salmon pink carnations.Preceding the ceremony, Russell Pecaut sang “Because” and at the close of the ceremony he sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”The bride is a graduate of Westfield high school and has been employed as a dental assistant in Rockwell City. The bridegroom graduated from the LeMars high school, served 18 months in the army and has since been engaged in farming.The bride chose for traveling a forest green suit with gray accessories. After a trip to Denver, the young couple will be at home on a farm east of Akron.A wedding reception was held following the ceremony in the church parlors. Mrs. Tom Kenny provided appropriate music during the reception, Miss Ann Harrington had charge of the guest book and Mrs, Gene Dewey was in charge of the gifts.Reception hostesses were Mrs. Albert Harrington and Mrs. Rav Welch of Westfield and Mrs. II. D. Black of Rockwell City. Miss Lila Montague and Miss Jeanine Neal were assistant hostesses.Out of town guests from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Black and daughter, Mrs. W. McClain, Miss Jeanne Wagner, Mr. and Mrs, C. D. White and daughter Priscilla and Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Fonda all of Rockwell City and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mitchell of Lake Park. Iowa.
