A wedding of interest to countyrelatives and friends is that ofS/Sgt. Marvin E. Stephens, son ofMr. and Mrs. Roy R. Stephens, ofSt. Louis, formerly of Silqx, who^ was united in marriage Wednesday evening, April 4, 1945, to MissHelen Cohn, of St. Louis. Thedouble ring ceremony was performed in the Baptist CenterChurch by Dr. Paul Weber, secretary to the St. Louis Baptist Mis-* sion Board, assisted by Rev. HenryOstertag.The bride wore a powder bluedress with \tfhite accessories andcarried a colonial bridal bouquet.Mrs. Elizabeth Newnom matronof honor, wore peach with whiteaccessories, Miss Ruthe Shipley,bride’s maid, wore yellow withwhite accessories. Both girls carried colonial bouquets.■ 2'Mr. Mayo Newnom, ^nd Mr.Larry Faukner were the groom’sattendants.Miss Marion Dienstback playedthe wedding march and MissBurdett Dienstback sang “Because” and “Oh Promise Me.”A reception was given by thebride’s mother. A large weddingcake topped with a miniaturebride and groom, centered thetable. For the present the brideand groom are at home at theWashington Hotel in St. Louis.S/Sgt. Stephens is to return toPratt, Kansas, April 15th, wherehe is a gunner on a B-29 plane.Contributed.I1
