He Is the man who on October 30, 1870, abandoned his wife and family at Little 8turgeon and skipped for parts unknown. But this la no^the Worst of it. Leclalr, who followed the occupation of a fisherman, left the beach near Phil Riley’s in a boat which subsequently turned up without Its occupant, theroby creating the impression that Leclalr had accidently drowned while in the pursuit’of hie calling.* The matter looked decidedly “fishy,and It soon became noised about that the man had adopted, this ruse for the purpose of ridding himself of liis wife and children. Subsequent events proved the entire correctness of this theory, blit as the poor wife never had proof positive of the fact 6he mourned for the departed as though he bad ^one to his grave. *Wltliin the past week Mrs. Leclalr received. Indisputable evidence that her liege lord was not only still living, but that he had been committing matrimony with a frequency^and recklessness worthy of a devoted ^follower of the Illustrious Brigham ibuntf.
