The evening was spent doing fancy work. Lunch was served by the hostess. Their next meeting will be April 19 with Mrs. Johnson at 7:30.Anyone interested in doing fancy work or learning knitting is cordially invited to attend or may call Mrs. Johnson for further information.Bridal Shower M«nors Kay GrethenA bridal shower was held Friday evening at St. Mary’s Hall for Kay Grethen, bride-elect of Terry Perry. Corsages were presented to the couple's mothers, Mrs, Walter Grethen and Mrs. Tom Perry, three grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Gre-. then of Rolfe, Mrs. Hazel Perry of Havelock and Mrs. Lawrence Runneberg of Spirit Lake. Guests were registered by Kim Perry.The program was emceed by Mrs. Marvin Schneider of Mallard, She is a cousin of the couple who wrote an original story of their lives. Musical numbers were a vocal solo byDaniel Thompson, and a duet by Barbara Thompson and Annette Perry. They were accompanied by Julie Thompson. Kim Perry accompanied herself on the guitar. Mrs. David Hartsock and Mrs. Ray Rein-ders sang two numbers,, “People and “Matchmaker'' as a duet and were accompanied by Mrs. Jim Perry.Kay was assisted at the gift table by Gayle Plerry, Mrs. Ken Dillon and Mrs. John Wenzel of Minneapolis, Minn., sisters of the couple, Judy Kruml,Janet Hubbell and Mrs. George DeWaU. Gifts were carried by Kris Crotty, Melody Hartsock and Kay McCartan. Presiding at the punch bowl were Barbara Thompson, Carol Crotty and Mrs. Maurice Zuercher, auntof Terry, served at the coffee. Kitchen chairmen were Mrs. Loren Thompson and Mrs. Jim Perry.Mrs. Ken Dillon and Mrs.John Wenzel of Minneapolis, Minn., were weekend guests in the Walter Grethen home.Saturday afternoon callers in the O. G. Horsman home were Mrs. Leah Matthiesen, Mrs. Grace Matthiesen, Mrs. Doris Johnson and Mrs. Elmer Lowman of Curlew, Mrs. Fay Scott of Spencer and Mrs. Alberta Backstrom of Mallard. The ladles are sisters of Mrs. Horsman. Other callers were Mrs. Art Sellers of Rolfe and Mrs. Bob Horsman of Laurens.Miss Mary Sporrer of Milford was honored at a bridal shower at the Plover United Methodist Church Saturday, April 6. She is the bride-elect of Tom Eberle. Mrs. Byron Pirie emceed the program. Mrs. Loren Thompson was kitchen chairman.Mrs. Clarence Van HoffvFuneral services were held Saturday, April 6, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Pocahontas for Mrs. Clarence (Faye) Van' Hoff, 59, with burial in ,{St. John's Cemetery, Lizard Township, jpocahontas County. Casket bearers were Francis Vodraska, Joseph Vodraska, Thomas Vodraska, Larry Vodraska, James Reis and Craig Gallup.Mrs. Van Hoff died April 3 at University Hospitals, Iowa
