DENNIS CHILDERSHelle-Childers Exchange VowsJudy Helle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Helle, Winthrop and Dennis Childers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Childers, Winthrop, were married Saturday, April 4, at 9;30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic church In Winthrop. Monsignor Vincent T. Hovermann performed the double ring ceremony before an altar enhanced with Easter lilies.Music was provided by the church choir with Mrs. William Zimpferas organist.Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor-length gown of peau de soie and alencon lace. It featured a lace empire waist with appliques of lace at the neckline, an A-line skirt of peau de soie and a detachable train. Her bouffant veil was attached to a crown of pearls and aurora crystelles. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.Maid of honor was Carlyne Meyer, Edgewood, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaid was Jeanne Gritton, Independence, cousin of the bridegroom. Their gowns were fashioned with rose pink peau skirts and galoon lace bodices styled with puffed sleeves. Their veils were attached to lace and nylon headpieces. They carried white mums.Best man was James Sandford of Pauline, S. Caro. Attendant was Dave Philipp of Greeley. Ushers were Gary Overman and Gene Weber.The bride’s mother wore a two piece aqua suit and white accessories and the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a black and white suit with white accessories. Their corsages were of pink and white flowers.A dinner was held at St. Patrick’s hall for 125 guests. The five tier wedding cake was decorated with a cascade of pink roses and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom.Registering guests was Sandra
