Mr. and Mrs. Richard Forney of Independence have announced the engagement of their daughter, Connie, to Sp/4 Terry L. Lamphier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lamphier of Oelwein. The bride-elect is a 1967 graduate of Independence High school and is employed as a secretary at the Mental Health institute. Her fiance is a 1967 graduate of Oelwein Community High school and is now serving with the army in Vietnam. The wedding will take place at St. John's Catholic church in Independence July 24.
