Engagement of Miss Vivian Cosby, Coach, and Erving Plummer, Librettist, AnnouncedThe engagement of two Boston Uni-eraity students. Hiss Vivian Cosby, special student at the School of Religious Education, and Erving Plummer senior at the College of Business Administration, was formally announced yesterday.Incidentally an unsuspecting reporter played the role of Dan Cupid when he gave Richard Cosby of 42 Bank st, Son1-crville, the first knowledge of his daughter s engagement about half an hour btiore the young coupu* arrived on the scene yesterday morning with their “wonderful sprprlse.”Mr Cosby at that time declined to take the matter seriously, and termed it nothing less than a prank. Eater in the day it was learned that after being fully convinced by the young couple that they had made up their minds, he gave* his^ approval and blessing on his daughters engagement.The engagement has been expected the past few days by many of thf r fellow students, although the couple, it is understood, desired £0 keep it a secret until the early part of May. For the past few months Miss Cosbv has been coaching the ail-B. V. show, which will be presented 1n a local theatre earlv in -May, and young Plummer, as the librettist, has been constantly in her company. The progress of the affair has been noted by many members of the cast since its beginning. Nothing def-M 188 VIVIAN COfcBYmite, however, was noted until Miss Cosby appeared last week wearing her fiance's fraternity pin.Mr Plummer, who is 22 years old, is the son of Mr and Mrs R B. Piummrn of Randolph. Miss Cosby is 20 year* old.Miss Cosby started her theatrica career at the age of 3, when she gav* a little dance in a vaudeville skit. Atshe b. gan to play the violin and to act. When she was 16, she began to sing ant write. Now she is specializing in play writing and producing. Beside the B U. show, she also is coaching her annual Futurists Revue, which wiii »oor be given in the Somerville Theatre.Mr Plummer is a ^ong writer, v. hlt; has not only written the score of Mini Cosby’s Futurists Revue and part o toe B V. show score, but also hai placed three hits with Mollle William** who wit] use them in her next show Mi Plummer is a member of Deit; Chi' Omega and the Owls, the Senio Society at the College of Business Ad ministration.
