Deputy Registrar Retires From Dauphin Lam I TitlesAfter 33 years with the Land Titles office in Dauphin,I William F. Percy retired as d.eputy to the district regi* ( strar, last Tuesday, March 31.Mr. Percy began work with the Land Titles, July 15, 1S20. after returning from the first world war and serv ing several years with the Canadian Northern railway.He was born in London. England, Sept. 4, 1886 and came to Canada and Dauphin in 1913. He •served with the 45th Overseas Battalion of the Canadian Army during the war and came back in the spring of 1917. After a stint with the railway, first in Melfort, Sask., then in Dauphin, he commenced the employment he followed until his retirement this March.Mr. Percy has been active in the Canadian Legion and the Anglican church. One of the charter members of the Legion here, he received a life membership in 1947. Prior to jominq the Legion, he was a member of the Great War Veterans' association.In church work he has held | every office in St .Paul’s Anglican church in Dauphin, and was also a member of the choir for many * years He was made a life member of the vestry in 1950.He married Ada Clare Beauchamp. daughter of the first doctor in the Dauphin district, in 1915. They have one daughter, Mabel Clare Preston, of Montreal At a banquet held In his honor by the Dauphin Bar association, Mr. Percy was presented with a wallet containing a sum of money. Associates at the Land Titles department presented him with a walking cane, suitably Inscribed. ,A trip to Montreal early this summer is among his po»t-retire-ment plans but he will continue to reside at his home at 18 Fourth avenue S.E. in Dauphin *
