Mr. and Mrs. Steven EhlersOur Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City was the setting March 6th at 2:30 in the afternoon for the wedding of Betty Skog of Albert City and Steven Ehlers of Newell. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Skog and Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Ehlers, all of Albert City.The double ring ceremony was performed by the bride's uncle, Bev. Donald Pearson of Fairfield, Ohio.Prelude music consisted of organ and piano duets played by Karen Ehlers, cousin of the groom and Janie Ellingson, friend of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ehlers,cousins of the groom, accompanied by Miss Ellingson, sang *'‘There’s a Quiet Understanding” and ‘‘The Wedding Prayer” and Richard accompanied himself on the guitar as he sang ‘‘That’s the Way.”The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of white polyester satin, featuring a yoke and frontoverlay of Chantilly lace. The stand-up collar, yoke and sleeves were edged with a narrow lace ruffle. The finger-tip veil was edged in the same lace ruffle and was held by a Camelot cap with embroidered lace. She carried a crescent cascade of white sweetheart roses, light blue carnations and royal blue star flowers.Peg Skog, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Janet Anderson, friend of the bride, and Sandy Skog, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore identical gowns of dusty blue with a front overlay of beige lace. Their hairpieces were made of royal blue star flowers and ivory baby's breath. Each carried a Colonial bouquet of light blue carnations and royal blue star flowers, accented by royal blue velvet streamers.Michelle Kinkade, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She was dressed in a floor length gown similar to the bridesmaids andcarried a fireside basket of carnations and star flowers.Karen Brinkman and Sally Sundblad were personal attendants.Jim Ehlers, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Chuck Johnson and Bruce Engel* mann, friends of the groom. Jon Wallerick, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer. Ushers were Dale Skog, cousin of the bride, and Bob Loving, Lloyd Peterson and Allan Wenell, friends of the groom.The bridegroom wore a camel colored tuxedo with brown lapels and vest, and an ecru ruffled shirt. The rest of the men wore camel colored jackets with brown trousers and ecru shirts.The bride’s mother and the groom’s mother wore floor length dresses of peach and turquoise, respectively. Each wore a white cymbidium orchid corsage.Cindy Allen, friend of the bride,registered the guests.Hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. John Ehlers, and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Skog, uncles and aunts of the couple.Corsages and boutonnieres were pinned by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Steele, cousins of the bride.Gifts were carried by Nancy Jackson, Barb Loving, Naomi Peterson, and David and Kathy Schramm.A reception for around 250 guests was held in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the ceremony. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Walter Alpers, aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Wm. Johnson, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Carl Boettcher, aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Chester Peterson, aunt of the bride, poured coffee. Punch was dipped by Mrs. Merlin Schramm and Suzanne Loving, cousins of the couple. Waitresses were Donna and Doris Anderson, Kim Benna, Karla Lind, Becky and Angela Peterson and Amber Nor-dine. Kitchen honors went to the Miriam Group of the LCW, Mrs. Terry Buse, chairman.Following a wedding trip to Florida the couple is at home on a farm southwest of Albert City.Rehearsal DinnerMr. and Mrs. Helmuth Ehlers hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday evening, March 5, at the South Side Cafe in Albert City.r
