Wednesday afternoon at the office of Mr. Ford, J.P., Miss Esther Smith,tPekin. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Pekin, became the bride of Glen Tackman jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tackman sr., of Manito in a single ring ceremony read by Mr. Ford.The bride chose a blue dress with a corsage of red roses.The only attendant |vas Mrs. Glen Tackman, mother of the groom.The bride was employed at the Pekin hospital in Pekin.The groom, a 1944 graduate of Manito Community high school, served over two years in the navy. He is now employed at the Railroad yards in South Pekin.They have an apartment in South Pekin.That evening the newlyweds w guest at a dinner in their honor at the home of the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tackman. Guest were; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tackman and family, Charles Louie, Mrs. Nora Meggs and Joyce Hawkins.Attends Convention in St. LouisMiss Jeannette Hewitt spent the week-end in St. Louis, Mo., where she accompanied three other chapter members from Lincoln, attending the Delta Knappa Gamma Stati Convention in St. Louis. There headquarters at the Sheraton Hotel.Miss Hewitt is the president of the Ton Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, which includes membersfrom Mason, Logan and Dewitt counties.It’s a GirlMr. and Mrs. Louis Talbott of Peoria are the happy parents of an eight pound baby girl born Monday afternoon at the Methodist hospital. The mother, the former Isabelle Hilling of Manito and baby are getting along just fine. They have named her Mary Ann, this is the Talbott’s first child. The happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. R. Hilling and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Talbott of Manito.
