A miTEIMOIilAL EVEST,The Wedding of Mr. Horace Elder and Ml Ella Slater, Last Evening—TheReception,al-1t,•1Kn69rea-The wedding of Mr. Horace Eider, to Miss Marcella Ellen Slater, took place at S. Matthews’ nhuroh at halt-after seven o’clock last evening. This was a matrimonial event that has for months been looked for by the society people of Bloomington, and created widespread interest, inasmuch as the bride and groom hate been among the leaders in society circles here.The churoh was decorated handsomely, and a large number of the leading people of the city, and some trom abroad, were present to witness the ceremony. A very few minutes after the time given on the cards of invitation for the performance of the ceremony, Prof. C. Morris Campbell announced the arrival of the wedding party by n triking up Wag.ier’s wedding march from “Lohengrin.” They came into the churoh headed by the ushers, Mr.George S Hanna, Mr. Guy McCurdy and Mr. Melvin Dodson, of this city, and Mr. Herbert Clark, of Mendota. These gentlemen were attired in full dress suits, and wore no gloves. After the ushers came Mr. E, H. Slate** and Mrs. E. W. Slter, mother and brother of the bride. Next came the bridesmaids, Miss Lillian Eider, a very pretty brunette, Bisler of the groom, and Miss Rosa Weedman.of Farmer City, a handsome blonde. These ladies wore white silk and lace, and flowers, and carried bouquets. Following the Misses Elder and Weedman came the bride leaning gracefully on the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr. J. H. Holmes, of New York. The bridal dress was exquisite. The p8tticcat was of white brocaded plush; corsage and train of white satin; square neck, no sleeves; trimming of crystal bt a Jed laoe; tulle veil; bouquet white flowers.Slowly and in measured tread in time with the musio of the march, the party approached the altar, where the bride was awal tdby the groom, supported by his “ bjat man,” Mr. Howard Humphreys. Arriving at the altar, the Rev. Mr. Simpson spoke the solemn words that made the couple husband and wife. Mr. Edward Slater gave the bride away.Alter ihe ceremony the bride and groom and other members of the wedding party were driven to the residence of Dr. Win. A. Elder, on E*st Jetteison street, where a reception was hold. The house was beautifully decorated with flowers, vines, etc. Many ladles and gentlemen were present, among whom were Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Holmes, of New York; Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Elder, of Ohenoa; Dr. and Mrs. Guilford Elder, of Danveis; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rode, of Ghicigo, Mrs. Babcock and Mrs. Ostlfy, of Denver, Col , E B. At eleven o’clock Mr. and Mrs. Elder were driven to the depot and took the train for Chicago. They will remain there a few days and then take a trip to Eintern cities. They will be gone three or four weeks.
