Clark, of Freeport, Harrison county, has accepted an appointment as head of the department of education at Heidelberg college at Tiffin, it was announced by Dr. Terry Wickham, president.Dr. Clark will succeed Dr. E. I. F. Williams, who retired this spring after serving 41 years on the Heidelberg faculty.The new department head received the bachelor’s degree in 1949 and the master’s degree in 1950 from Ohio State university, and he also holds the doctor of philosophy degree from Ohio State.While studying for the doctorate, Professor Clark also worked with the university’s Bureau of Educational Research and was closely identified with the Ohio Committee of President Eisenhower’s White House Conference on Education, which as served by the bureau.After receiving the bachelor’s degree, Dr. Clark taught modern problems, civics and history at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home at Xenia for two years.He was principal and teacher of history and speech at Ada high school for the 1951-52 school year, and for the following two years was principal and director of athletics at Newcomerstown highschool.
